Coltsfoot Creek Demo Site

The goal of this project is to allow groups (specifically non-profits) to easily control the content of all parts of their site without having any web or HTML knowledge. This includes the displayed menu items, site look, page content, pictures, documents and even videos.

Content:
Most items on this site are editable by users in an admin area. For example, the picture on this page is pulled randomly from the database of pictures which have been entered on this site while the news at the bottom are pulled from the news  areas.

Menu Items:
Most menu item can be removed if the features are not needed - just turn them off in the admin section. The site map is dynamically generated based on what menu items are used and broken down by categories in the heavier viewed areas.

Pictures:
Pictures can be associated with a number of items from news to events to the people involved. Pictures enlighten the viewer to the area under discussion and are excellent for showing the changes that are occurring in the area. The system automatically resizes digital photographs to the correct sizes.  As well, people can search or filter the images on keywords or on category.

Themes:
The entire 'look' of the site can be changed to one of several preset color themes. As well, custom headers and colors are easily accomplished with minimal time.

Site Admin:
The main driver of this site is the content entry area site administration. 2 levels of users allow protection to important content areas.

Users: Right now there are 2 groups using the site full time.  For more information please go to the news area.

About Coltsfoots Creek
. It is located at the base of Forbidden Plateau Road and is fed from the hills of Forbidden Plateau Mountain.

In the past 10 years logging and development has placed pressures on this stream. The creek feeds into the Puntledge River about 1 km upstream from the upper Puntledge Fish Hatchery. The stream supports a myriad of wildlife including small trout .  We feel blessed to have a section of the stream bound our property.
